The style I’ve chosen to pursue can be defined as imaginative realism. I explore natural beauty and paint on the edge of what's visible, adding my own intuitive imagination. I love the drama and versatility of acrylic paint along with the lower toxicity impact to the environment. 

My process starts with a direct relationship with the subject matter. In a “hands on” approach, I sketch my impressions and take my own resource photos, which may involve considerable time and observational visits. I continue my process by creating miniature color and composition studies as I pull ideas from scientific concepts that fascinate me. My finished paintings are the product of many hours of behind-the-scenes research, brainstorming, and dreaming.
